Illustrations can be generated from a variety of source information, and we can arrange to create them from “raw” technical information or adapt your existing images. We accept and use tracing film masters, paper copies or a variety of digital file formats — let us know what you have and we will suggest a solution to meet your needs.

MSL can accept and edit existing vector images directy, in formats such as AudoCAD (.dwg, .dxf, .dwf), IsoDraw (.iso), Adobe Illustrator (.ai) and CorelDRAW (.cdr). We can then provide new editable masters in these formats, or convert them to another format and edit them, and we can then export them to formats compatible with your preferred document editor (such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher, Serif PagePlus and Adobe FrameMaker).

MSL can scan and convert film and paper to editable digital forms (raster or raster-to-vector), then edit them to adapt the existing images or add new elements. We can also use photographs to create vector images by trace-over.

Photographs can also be used directly in your publication. We can add annotations and suitable leader lines, and we can also edit the images to remove unnecessary content (such as items in the background). We can also arrange to present photographs alongside line drawings to clarify details or provide structural breakdowns.

If you have an illustrations need, then please contact MSL.
